Star Trails

This is an image of star trails that I took from my house. You can see how the stars move across the sky in a space of just 45 minutes! The point that the stars circle around points directly to the north — that is the location of the north star.

Acquisition

  1. 30×90 sec exposures (total of 45 minutes)
  2. 200 ISO
  3. F/2.1
  4. 35mm zoom

Processing

  1. Stacked the photos in Deep Sky Stacker
  2. Auto Histogram Stretch in Gimp
  3. Denoise in gimp
  4. Slight crop
